Hi,

I wish to study for the technician license & heard there is a new wrinkle to the testing as of July 2010.

What will I need to study to be up to speed for this new change(s)?

The question pools are updated periodically. The new Technical pool takes effect next month. See http://www.ncvec.org/page.php?id=356.

The new wrinkle is that the question pool changed to include a few new questions, and got rid of a few other questions. Some of the new questions have diagrams and pictures, which the tech exam hasn't had recently. What hasn't changed is the format of the tests - it is still multiple guess choice.

If you've studied for the previous exam and understand the material you may want to just try some practice tests online to see if you are ready:

If you haven't really studied for the test yet then I'd recommend getting a study guide and learning the material. Something like this:
