How quickly after making an online application for a vanity call sign will you hear from FCC?

You will hear between 18 and 21 days from when you applied. I posted this elsewhere just yesterday for someone else asking a similar question:

If you did it online, start checking tomorrow on VanityHQ at http://www.vanityhq.com . At the top is a link to Apps Filed. Click it and scroll to the bottom and you should see your call show up. Then check out the link at the top labeled App Predictions and it will show what it feels you will get. Its prediction should be correct with the exception that someone mailed in a request vs doing it online or there are multiple requests on the same day for the same vanity call. The Prediction is sorted by your current call sign so look for AC2BU near the top of the page.

Yep, vanityHQ is the place to check up on your vanity call application.
